No matter what system we tested, or how much water we ran through it, the results were the same: the water was soft, smooth and free of minerals like calcium and magnesium that eat away at your plumbing.
We’ve tested numerous brands over time, and we have no hesitation ranking SoftPro among the best of the best.
What about the meters?
The “brains” behind any water softener are the meters. In older systems, a timer was used to schedule the regeneration, i.e. every few hours or once a day. But that can be inefficient, because the system would regenerate even if it wasn’t needed. And on the flipside, if there’s a large demand for water suddenly, there won’t be enough treated water available.
SoftPro solves this with its programmable digital meters, which regenerate based on demand, not a timed schedule.
We found SoftPro’s digital meters to be intuitive, easy to use and reliable. They offer a decent range of programming options, though most owners will usually prefer to “set it and forget it.”
How dependable?
When we judge a water softener’s dependability, we generally evaluate according to two factors:
